PROCESS OUTLINE
-
Requests are not first come first serve.
-
The request form will be open for a stated period of time, after which I will review all submitted requests and send out emails for acceptances.
-
All payments will be accepted in USD.
-
Payment is usually expected upfront, but I'm always willing to draw up payment plans or pay after initial sketch has been received. This is not uncommon, particularly for comics or other large projects!
-
Payment can be made through PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle (US). An invoice will be issued regardless of payment method.
-
No crypto, nft, ai etc you know
-
The piece will be completed within 1-3 weeks of payment being received, the client will receive sketches and additional updates throughout this process. If the piece is not finished in this time, I will be communicating with you throughout the process regardless.
-
I am pretty receptive to changes throughout the whole process, but I do ask for major changes to be discussed during the sketch phase.
-
My current process for commission pieces is usually like this:
-
First sketch to find feel, motion of illustration typically
-
Second sketch to find most if not all detail
-
Lines, there are sometimes 2 or 3 versions of the lineart made.
-
Flat colors
-
Basic shading
-
Detailed shading, textures, rendering
-
Final changes made to lineart and colors
-
Sometimes I will redraw the entire piece at this point, but it's in a way that the original piece is a very detailed sketch. This allows me to make aspects of the piece more cohesive and streamlined, when some elements are difficult to define in the sketch or lineart stages.
